Mexico: The Ultimate Spring Break Paradise

Experiencing Spring Break should be a prerequisite for every college student before earning their degree. We all know the advantages of the basic core classes such as biology, English literature, and math… but the knowledge and experience a student gains from a 'true’ Spring Break is priceless. The bonds of friendship, crazy, outlandish adventures, romantic encounters, and ever lasting fun-filled memories will truly shape The golden beaches of Acapulco stretch on for miles. and define a person's character and personality. These days of spring bloom an amazing sense of ‘wanderlust and freedom’ that can change a young individual’s life forever. Nevertheless, before you can truly enjoy a Spring Break vacation, you must decide where to go. For true beach enthusiasts, it is impossible to go wrong with Mexico. Mexico offers the most pristine beaches, the mysterious Mayan Ruins, and historical culture. The resorts are absolutely amazing, relatively inexpensive, and they have catered for years to students. No matter where you go in Mexico, beautiful, white, sandy beaches, aquamarine water and nightlife that continues into the daylight hours await you.

There are two coasts in Mexico, the Gulf Coast and the Pacific Coast. The Gulf Coast, know also as the Caribbean side has beautiful white beaches, turquoise blue ocean water, and warm climate year round. Cancun is the most popular hotspot on the Caribbean side, but for a more laid back escape you can head south to Playa del Carmen, Puerto Adventuras, Akumal, or Tulum. Here you can enjoy the beauty and culture of Mexico, but avoid the hustle and bustle of Cancun. For all those who like a non-stop party, Spring Break in Cancun may possibly be the wildest event that goes on in the entire world. No where else in Mexico can you find as many Spring Breakers throwing down 24/7 in ‘true’ Spring Break style. Nothing happens in moderation, and everyone seems to test their limits in every way.

Cancun’s endless daytime activities include parasailing, snorkeling, jet skiing, scuba diving, day trips to Cozumel or Isla Mujeres, tours to the Mayan ruins and Xcaret, jungle excursions, and shopping. Another option is to drink the day away at the swim up pool bar, or you could head over early to ocean front Fat Tuesday’s for Daiquiris served out of a 2-foot yard glass. Or many students hit the beach packed with tens of thousands of tanned, toned bodies. Cancun not only boasts the most amazing blue water you’ll ever swim in, but it is Cancun's nightlife that separates this Mexico destination from all the rest. The ‘discothèques’ are what make Cancun the Spring Break capital of the world. Most night clubs offer a nightly special such as $20 Cov Crowds gather at one of the Cancun resort pools to watch a drunken body shot contest take place. er and Free Drinks all night. Cancun’s most popular discothèques are La Boom, Daddy O, Daddy Rock, The City, Pat O’Brien’s, the Bulldog, Coco Bongo, and Senior Frogs.

The Pacific Coast has its own natural beauty, from miles of golden beaches with stunning coastlines to deep blue water, and amazing rock formations. The climate is slightly cooler on the Pacific side due to the brisk ocean water. For years, many Spring Breakers have been traveling to Acapulco, Matazlan, and Puerto Vallarta, but the newest hot spot is Cabo San Lucas. Located on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, Cabo will surprise all visitors with the amazing jagged peaks of the Sierra del Laguna framed by endless golden beaches and deep blue waters. With over 350 days of sun and an average daytime temperature in the 80’s, you can't ask for better weather. Cabo’s daytime activities include deep sea fishing, beach parties, snorkeling, kayaking, booze cruises, and ATV Tours. When the sun goes down, the nightlife kicks in full effect! Students can party ‘til dawn at a variety of choices such as Cabo Wabo, Squid Roe, Carlos and Charlie's or The Giggling Marlin. The nightclubs are not as ‘state of the art’ as Cancun, but the party is definitely pumping! No matter which destination in Mexico, it is guaranteed to be an unforgettable Spring Break experience!
